WITH A HEAVY HEART we share the sad news of the passing of ROGER GAVAN, a much loved and treasured human being who brought all to the residents through his photos and words. His kind and generous heart will be sorely missed. Roger had a great sense of humor as well… I recall when he inadvertently called me Kelly instead of Taylor and we laughed and it became a running gag as every time we would talk he would say “hey Kelly….” lol

We covered a lot of the same events and always had a system where I would look at him and he would shake his head yes to go ahead and round up the cast of characters so we could get the photos and the stories. Working or being with Roger was always easy and full of fun and laughter. One of the most special humans I have ever known.

Please visit Facebook.com/WTBQAMFM for all the stories of those who knew Roger, they are heartwarming and full of love and admiration for a life well lived.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his incredible, loving wife, Terry Gavan and his daughter, Peggy.

It is impossible to think of a life without Roger Gavan in it… so I won’t and will only think he’s on assignment. In his own words, “I write, I don’t speak.”

We hear you Roger….load and clear….

“May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face, and the rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand”
