Following Ms. Werner’s letter and the overwhelming reaction from our readers, Warwick Valley Dispatch reached out to the Warwick Republican Committee for comment regarding the election process and the concerns raised by Alyssa Werner and Mayor Harter, published below:
“The Warwick Republican Committee adheres to our Committee By Laws and Robert’s Rules of Order when it comes to the election of our Officers and Committee Members. Ms. Werner and Mr. Harter are clearly dissatisfied with the outcome of our elections to fill seven Committee seat vacancies. However, By Laws exist for a reason and are necessary for the orderly conduct of an organization’s business and deliberations. The Warwick Republican Committee elected the most qualified candidates to serve by popular vote. Unfortunately, our friends and relatives are not always the ones selected to fill vacancies. Nonetheless, we take pride in and congratulate our newly elected Committee Members.”
