FLORIDA, NY — The Florida Fire Department held its annual “You Bet Your Ice Hole” Fishing Tournament on Saturday, February 1, 2025, bringing the community together for a fun-filled day on the ice.
A special thanks goes to Company President Doug Myruski, Vice President Anne Ossentjuk, and Tournament Chair Tim Brunswick for organizing the event. Participants enjoyed a day of friendly competition, with plenty of impressive catches reeled in. A great time was had by all.
Among those in attendance were Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus, Orange County Legislator Glenn Ehlers, and Warwick Supervisor Jesse Dwyer, who joined members of The Monroe Chester Sportsmen’s Youth Club for the event. A standout catch of the day—several nice-sized pickerel—was proudly displayed by the young anglers.
The tournament once again proved to be a highlight of the winter season, reinforcing the strong sense of camaraderie and outdoor tradition in the Florida community.
