As we stand on the threshold of 2025, I am filled with both pride in our achievements and anticipation for the year ahead. As your Sheriff, my commitment to you remains unwavering. This past year has demonstrated the strength of our community, and together, we have faced challenges with resilience and unity.
As I look forward, my goals remain focused on enhancing public safety and fostering trust between my office and the community we serve. We will continue to prioritize training and resources for our deputies and correction officers, ensuring they are well-equipped to respond to any situation with professionalism and compassion. Community policing will remain at the forefront of our strategy, as I believe that building relationships with our residents is the foundation for a safer environment.
This year, we will launch new initiatives aimed at tackling pressing issues such as drug abuse, mental health crises, and the rising tide of domestic violence. These programs will involve collaboration with local organizations and mental health professionals to provide support and resources for those in need. We will continue to fight the scourge of drugs that plague our communities and our children’s schools with every resource available to us.
Additionally, we will invest in technology to enhance our crime-fighting capabilities and improve response times. Keeping our roads safe remains a priority, and we will be increasing patrols in high-traffic areas to reduce accidents and prevent impaired driving. We will collaborate with our local law enforcement agencies to provide a force multiplier in an effort to reduce crime in our communities.
I have been committed to provide professionally trained deputies to protect our most cherished resource, our children. Providing nearly 30 schools with school security deputies to not only protect our children during the school day but also while they train and compete in events after hours.
As your Sheriff, I am dedicated to transparency and accountability. I will continue to engage with you, hear your concerns, and work collaboratively on solutions.
