Swearing-In Ceremony

Community

I attended our favorite Assemblyman, Karl Brabenec’s swearing in ceremony this past Sunday in a packed room at the Eire Trackside in Port Jervis, however Albany managed to pass a law to cost tax payers yet even more money in their quest to get people of their party elected so among many others, they all have to run once again this year. Back to the ceremony…it truly was a room filled with elated constituents and elected officials. Brabenec was sworn in by Flo Santini, the Town Clerk of Deerpark as Brabenec’s mother, Emelie Brabenec stood at his side. Also in attendance was Brabenec’s better half, Stephanie Vandemark and her two children, Mikaela and Jocob as well as the owner of The Crystal Inn, Ryan Zygmunt, Legislators, Janet Sutherland and Pete Tuohy among many others. Brabenec has been active in the community, government, and politics since the age of 14. Previous to serving in the Assembly, Brabenec was Deerpark Town Supervisor from 2010 to 2014. He focused on common-sense principles to save taxpayer dollars, including improving the local business climate through zoning restriction reforms and by providing long-term financial planning and responsibility by saving reserve funds for future expenses.

Please do you and your family a favor and research the people who you are casting a vote for. Be sure they hold the same values, are focused on what’s best for you, your family, your business and the County. Local elections are as important, maybe even more so than National elections. It determines your everyday life. Listen, we all research on the net which face cream we are buying, which nail polish, which car we want to buy, fishing rod, etc. however the person who may represent us in Albany or Congress… not so much. Please, if you make one resolution this year, discover who your representatives are and what their objectives are and be sure that is who you want speaking for you.
