On Sunday, November 17, people gathered at the gazebo at Greenwood Lake’s Thomas P Morahan Waterfront Park to watch the firefighting efforts for the wildfire in Greenwood Lake. They watched a NY National Guard helicopter fill a bucket with lake water to drop on the wildfire. There are many fire departments working together and with their controlled burn operations the fire is 88% contained. Smoke can be seen in the local area from Sterling Forest.
