On Saturday and Sunday, October 12-13, 2024, Greenwood Lake Elks Lodge 2067 will invite everyone to stop by their headquarters on 35 Chestnut Street to experience Oktoberfest, the annual celebration of the fall season that began in 1810 when King Ludwig of Bavaria and Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen got married and the couple invited the entire city of Munich to join them during the weeklong reception.
Greenwood Lake’s weekend event will include craft and food vendors, activities for the whole family, and music all day, with Saturday featuring Vinyl Tap from 6-10PM and Sunday featuring 18-time Grammy award-winner Jimmy Sturr and his orchestra from 1-4PM.
To keep the event unique and traditional the overall theme of the event will showcase German-style craft pieces and European foods & snacks. What makes Greenwood Lake Oktoberfest special is not only its longstanding history as a community with outstanding events, but the reach it has across generations of fest-goers with offerings for attendees of all ages. For the adults, Oktoberfest boasts a full Biergarten serving up plenty of German & Craft Beer favorites along with Authentic German Foods next to a full stage lineup of live musical performances.
Get in the spirit at the food and craft “Vendor Village,” offering up some of Hudson Valley’s unique artists and businesses while enjoying the sounds of festive music throughout the day and night. Revelers young and old alike will enjoy a full entertainment lineup across one stage, including traditional German music, local German band performances, and community performances Saturday and Sunday. Don’t miss this time-honored tradition as Elks Drive in Greenwood Lake is transformed into a German paradise.
As a community the Greenwood Lake Oktoberfest is truly one-of-a-kind, with more “Prost!” (Cheers!) than ever before. Under the direction of the Greenwood Lakes Elks Lodge on Chestnut Street, this year’s fest will showcase a revitalized and elevated experience for all ages. Entrance fees for Saturday are adults $15 and $10 seniors; Sunday $20 adults and $15 seniors. Kids $5 (under 13). For more information please call 845-477-2067 after 4PM.
