EARLY VOTING: MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD

Politics

A Column from the Desk of Assemblyman Karl Brabenec (R,C-Deerpark)

If you haven’t already noticed from the many advertisements this election season, early voting for the 2024 election cycle has officially begun in New York. From October 26 to November 3, registered voters can beat the Election Day rush and cast their votes ahead of time at designated early voting polling sites.  As your state representative, I can’t stress enough how critical it is to exercise your right to vote. Voting is one of the most powerful tools we have as citizens to influence the direction of our communities, counties, state, and country. It’s a unique moment when every eligible voter’s voice is equal—an opportunity for us all to shape the future together.

In today’s fast-paced world, many people face challenges making it to the polls on Election Day. Early voting offers flexibility that can alleviate this stress, allowing you to vote at a time that’s convenient for you. It also reduces congestion at polling places on Election Day, making the process smoother for everyone. Whether you’re concerned about local policies, state legislation, or national issues, early voting ensures your voice is part of the conversation. And when more people participate, the government better reflects the will of the people it serves.

For those who are interested in voting early, you can find the early voting locations in Orange County at OrangeCountyGov.com and in Rockland County at RocklandGov.com. These sites will provide you with all the necessary details to make sure your vote is counted. To my constituents, thank you in advance for taking the time to engage in this vital process. No matter who you vote for, your participation strengthens our democracy and helps ensure that the government is responsive to the needs and desires of the people it represents. Remember, voting is not just a right—it’s a responsibility. By voting early, you’re making your voice heard and contributing to the future we all share. Assemblyman Brabenec represents the 98th District, which includes the city of Port Jervis, the towns of Deerpark, Greenville, Mount Hope, Wawayanda, Minisink, Warwick, Tuxedo and portions of the towns of Goshen, Monroe and Ramapo.
