Police and Fire

On September 17, 2024, investigators from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 20 Cherrywood Drive in the Town of Goshen.

The search warrant was the result of an investigation, spanning several months, of a larceny complaint by Lowe’s Home Improvement in the Village of Chester.

The target of the investigation, Robert Nappi, DOB 1/29/1969, a former Lowe’s employee, was arrested and charged with (1) count of Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree, a class “D” felony and released on his own recognizance, with a future appearance in the Village of Chester Court. It is anticipated that additional charges will be filed in the Town of Goshen court in the coming days.

The Sheriff’s Office recovered over 100 stolen items from the residence valued at approximately $19,548.00.  Additionally, a quantity of cocaine was recovered from the residence.

Thank you to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office and Lowe’s® Market Organized Retail Crime Investigations for their assistance with this investigation.

A criminal charge is merely an allegation by the police that a defendant has committed a violation of the criminal law, and it is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent and entitled to a fair trial, during which it will be the State of New York’s burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
