On July 21, 2024, State Police arrested William J. Mauriello, 38, of Warwick, NY, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the fifth degree, Conspiracy in the sixth degree, and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.
On July 22, 2024, State Police again arrested Mauriello for Grand Larceny in the third degree and a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation.
On July 21, 2024, at about 10:59 p.m., Troopers stopped a vehicle on State Route 50 in Wilton, NY, being driven by Mauriello for Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. Mauriello was found to not possess a valid driver’s license. Further investigation discovered a glass smoking device containing drug residue and new items in the vehicle with the price tags still attached. Troopers contacted a surrounding business and determined the new merchandise valued at over $700 had been stolen from a store located nearby in Wilton, NY, just before the traffic stop. The stolen items were seized.
was arrested and transported to SP Wilton for processing. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Wilton Town Court on August 20, 2024, and released.
On July 22, 2024, at about 12:59 p.m., Troopers responded to the reports of a vehicle stolen from a store in the area of Ballard Road in Wilton, NY. Less than an hour and a half later, State Police members located the stolen vehicle being driven by Mauriello on Lark Street in Albany, NY, where it was stopped, and Mauriello was taken into custody. The investigation determined after being released from State Police custody that morning, Mauriello allegedly stole the vehicle from the store and drove it to the location of the traffic stop.
Mauriello was transported to SP Wilton for processing. He was arraigned at the Wilton Town Court and released under the supervision of the Saratoga County Probation Department.
