The County’s fireworks show, Freedom Fest, a family-friendly community event at Thomas Bull Memorial Park in Montgomery, went off as planned on Friday evening, July 19th. It began with a special salute to our veterans and featured live music as well as a variety of food trucks and vendors. There were hundreds in attendance, all with faith in our County and our Country. Steve Neuhaus, the Orange County Executive, was very pleased with the great turn-out and his focus was on the Veterans and our military serving abroad. Neuhaus walked the walk as he was deployed to Iraq in 2019. The audience, spread throughout the grounds at Memorial Park gave a standing ovation at the event and the patriotism was more than evident. It appeared to have a renewed faith in our future. Also in attendance was the Director of Veteran Affairs, Christian Farrell, the OC Clerk, Kelly Eskew, the Supervisor of the Town of Woodbury, Kate Luciani as well as Dorey Houle, who is running for next New York State Senator. It is America…. We will always fight and stand for our freedom. As Lee Greenwood sings…GOD BLESS THE USA
