PIE Students Donate Hundreds of Books to Friends & Bookends Bookstore

Community

Students in Sanfordville Elementary School’s Partners in Education (PIE) Program collected hundreds of books for Friends & Bookends, the bookstore located at Albert Wisner Public Library (AWPL). Run by the Friends of the Library, the bookstore raises funds in support of AWPL. PIE students collected the books as part of their Community Economics Unit, through which they identified local organizations that support the community.  In addition to Friends & Bookends, other recipient organizations included The Warwick Hope Chest, Warwick Ecumenical Food Pantry, and Warwick Valley Humane Society. AWPL and Friends of the Library appreciate the donations. Friends & Bookends is open when AWPL is open, and accepts donations of used, recent books in good condition.
