There are not enough accolades to describe Suzyn Barron – her selfless acts to protect, rescue and save lives each day goes without precedence. Suzyn’s commitment to a lifetime of caring for abused, abandoned and neglected animals is her life’s journey and she does it always with a smile and an amazing story. There are those who are chosen to be the saviors and Suzyn was specifically selected as exhibited for over 30 years and she is committed to doing so day in, day out and nights. The stories of rescues, court cases and how hard she works each day to secure funds to assist with food, medical care, housing and staff is beyond the call of duty. I dare you to shadow Suzyn for one day. You will be astonished. Her old office was overcrowded with cages filled with kittens having to be bottle fed every few hours and as night arrived she would take them all home and spend all night caring for those little souls. Her new office is beginning to resemble the old one! How do you put into words a woman who defines the word altruistic love…I can…it’s SUZYN BARRON! The shelter is in dire need to soundproof the kennels. Trust me, when you go into the kennel and one dog barks, the entire place is howling and it is so disturbing to all those innocent lives and disconcerting to those wishing to adopt. There have been other shelters who have soundproofed and the rate of adoption has far exceeded anything they hoped for. Classical music may also be piped in and the dogs are so much calmer. It makes the transition from shelter to “fur”ever home so much easier for both the companion and the human. If everyone gave $10 we could get this done in record time. Please dig into your hearts and help the shelter to continue to provide safe, loving and forever homes for all the innocent lives at the Warwick Valley Humane Society. Please be part of what makes us human and humane.
