MARK YOUSSEF SWORN IN AS STUDENT TRUSTEE FOR SPRING 2024

Began One-Semester Term After Taking Oath of Office at SUNY Orange Board of Trustees’ February Meeting

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. – Mark Youssef was sworn in as the student representative to the SUNY Orange Board of Trustees for the Spring 2024 semester, taking the oath of office from Board Chair Ralph Martucci Jr. during the Board’s second meeting of the calendar year.

As the student Trustee, Youssef will represent the College’s 4,000-plus students at Board meetings and other College events.

A native of Egypt, Youssef resides in New Windsor and graduated from Newburgh Free Academy’s North Campus. At SUNY Orange, he is majoring in Liberal Arts: Mathematics and Science. He is a member of Student Senate and is part of the College’s Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP), which provides academic services to underrepresented minorities and economically disadvantaged students studying in selected curricula, STEM fields and those that lead to New York state licensed professions.

Youssef holds membership in three student clubs (Mathematics Club, Chemistry Club and Outdoors Club) and played for the Colts’ men’s soccer team last Fall. He is active in his church, Virgin Mary and Saint Pachomious of Stony Point, and is an assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 413.

His term will conclude at the Board’s June 2024 meeting.
