Boy Scout Troop 45 holds charter ceremony

Aiden Anderson, far right, who serves as senior patrol leader for Warwick’s Boy Scout Troop 45, presented the troop’s charter to Nicholas P. Lesando Jr. American Legion Post 214 in Warwick, sponsor of Troop 45 for the past six years. The charter ceremony was held May 13 at the Legion Hall on Forester Avenue, next to Veterans Memorial Park. Shown, left to right, are Legion Post 214 Commander Tom Brennan, Past American Legion County Commander Frank Gilner, Boy Scout Harry Anderson, Scout Chair Scott Brown, Scouts Jack Castellano, Holden Frommeyer, T.J. Brown, Scout Leader Tim Brown and Senior Patrol Leader Aiden Anderson. Troop 45 scouts assist legion members in placing American flags on the gravesites of military veterans in the Warwick Cemetery each May. Troop 38 scouts decorate veterans’ graves in St. Stephens Cemetery. Both troops play an active role in Warwick’s Memorial Day Parade and ceremonies, which will be held on Monday, May 27.
