I had the honor of covering the induction of the new volunteer firefighters’ graduation this past Saturday which included Orange County Executive, Steve Neuhaus, Commissioner of Emergency Management Services, Pete Cirigliano, OC Clerk, Kelly Eskew, OC Deputy Fire Commissioner, Vini Tankasali, and many more.
More than 80 residents from Fire Departments all over Orange County graduated from the Fire Training Program and that is no easy feat. Remember these men and women risk their lives each time they are called out and let me remind you, they are all volunteers! Their achievement is extremely impressive and to be commended. BRAVO to all who graduated and who are now part of what makes Orange County great!
Dedication and perseverance. When fire, disaster or medical emergency strikes, you take it for granted that your call for help will be answered. And it will be…but only because there are volunteers who willingly contribute their time and energy to keeping your community safe. These men and women are truly amazing, and they come from every walk of life; they work and live all around you. A volunteer firefighter shares an unselfish, often underappreciated commitment to being there…ready to serve… whenever a crisis occurs. That is truly being a good neighbor. Remember to thank those who serve us each and every day.
