WTBQ covered the 19th Annual News Conference with Dana Distributors where they announced the new Decide to Ride Campaign and their new partnership with M.A.D.D. This program has consistently aided in preventing drunk driving during New Year’s Eve. Each year Dana Distributors and Anheuser Busch offer an alternative to driving intoxicated with a ride home via UBER or LYFT. The Dana Alert Cab Program was overseen by Dana’s General Sales Manager, Tom Kennedy, who also has hosted this program for the last two decades. At the event, Tom Kennedy and Dana Distributors awarded the Commissioner of Emergency Services, Pete Cirigliano with the 2023 Recognition Award for his steadfast pursuit to end drunk driving. Pete was a State Trooper for 22 years and retired from Troop F as the Zone 2 Commander. Also speaking at the event was Orange County Executive, Steve Neuhaus, Orange County Sheriff, Paul Arteta, Orange County District Attorney, David Hoovler, Orange County Court Clerk, Kelly Eskew, and Assemblyman Karl Brabenec. Also in attendance was Warwick’s Chief of Police, John Radar, Supervisor of the Town of Monroe, Tony Cardone, and many law enforcement from Orange County plus Dorey Houle, your next NY State Senator. Westchester and Putnam Counties also participated this year. Commissioner Cirigliano was on WTBQ Radio Tuesday morning and shared the latest statistics for the 2023-2024 New Year’s Eve stats for DUIs. It was the lowest in the history of the program with only 11 DUIs reported for the holiday evening! Bravo to all our law enforcement and to Dana Distributors for their constant vigilance, getting the word out on awareness and with a partnership that benefits the lives of many families each year.
