Off-Duty Warwick Firefighter Heroically Rescues Individual from Perilous Situation

  The Warwick Fire Department thanks  one of our Firefighters, the Captain Kevin Colomba from the Goodwill Hook & Ladder Company #1  for his selfless service to help others in their time of need, during the accident that occurred in the Tuxedo Fire District.  While returning from work this morning as a Police Officer for the (PAPD) The Port Authority Police Department of NY&NJ,  Captain Colomba encountered a serious motor vehicle accident with injuries on State Route 17A in the Town of Tuxedo.  Captain Colomba encountered two vehicles, one of which was on fire with people trapped inside.  While he was off duty Officer Colomba jumped into Firefighter/Police Officer mode as he successfully removed  accident victims from both  vehicles. The Warwick Fire Department would like to thank Captain Colomba and those who assisted him during this incident to safely remove and render aid to those involved until emergency services agencies arrived. The Warwick Fire Department is honored to have Captain Colomba as one of our own. 

This past week our companies, including our Warwick Fire Police Unit completed the following details from drills calls for service at fire scenes,vehicle apparatus checks, fleet maintenance and weekly work details at all Warwick Fire Stations. The Warwick Fire Department has been busy responding to multiple calls for service keeping Warwick Fire Safe.  

 The Warwick Fire Department has responded to 451 calls for service to date as of Monday October 30, 2023. 

  • Three Warwick Firefighters are currently completing Fire School Training at the Orange County Fire Training Center with a completion of Training scheduled at the end of November.

         Bill Lindberg Honored with Outstanding Community Service Recipient Award

This past Wednesday evening members of the Warwick Fire Department attended the Warwick Citizen of the Year awards at the LandMark Inn hosted by the Warwick Rotary Club. Warwick Fire Department Treasurer Bill Lindberg was awarded an Outstanding Community Service Recipient Award.  Bill is a Firefighter from the Goodwill Hook & Ladder Company #1 and also Treasurer of the company as well as our Department.  Bill is a respected member of our Department and our Community also serving as a driver for the Warwick Volunteer Ambulance Service.  Bill, we can’t thank you enough for all that you do for our community and for our Department.  Congratulations to Bill and all of the other award recipients for all of your accomplishments.

  • This past Thursday evening the Warwick Fire Department (FAST) Firefighter Assist Search Team completed their monthly scheduled drill.  Members were instructed on high point removal from a second floor window onto a ladder down to the ground floor.  
  • On Saturday evening the Goodwill Hook & Ladder Company #1 held its annual Firemen’s Awards Dinner at the Warwick Country Club.  
  • On Sunday the Warwick Fire Department attended the Orange County 911 Emergency Services Trunk or Treat at the Orange County Fire Training Center.
