Warwick Varsity Football rallied behind an outstanding defensive to defeat the Binghamton Patriots 27 – 16 in Week “0” as the Wildcats chose a game rather than a scrimmage in the optional week prior to school opening. Hard work in the summer paid off as Captain and #44 Jake Rooney paced the defense with 11 total tackles. Johnny Accardo returned from injury in 2022 and has set the bar high for a defense that only allowed two first downs in the first 30 minutes of the game.
Junior to watch Wyatt Vreeland was tenacious from his defensive end position and recorded a sack and 7 total tackles.
The offense
was led by senior receiver Latrell Willis who had 5 receptions for 90 yards and a long touchdown. Lacrosse sensations’ Ryan and Dylan Sullivan combined for 4 catches, a touchdown and n
early 100 return yards. Senior QB W
ils Siebert ran for two touchdowns and threw for 2 in the Wildcats win.
Warwick will host the Kingston Tigers on Friday September 8th with a 6:45 stadium opening ceremony on youth football night followed by a 7 PM kick – off.
