Julia Mosier and Kevin Walter have been selected as this week’s Warwick Valley High School (WVHS) Student-Athletes of the Week, sponsored by the Bill Garcia Allstate Insurance Agency in Warwick.
Julia Mosier is the valedictorian of the Class of 2021 with a weighted GPA of 104, and a member of the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society. She earned NYSSMA All-State and was named All-Eastern honors as a vocalist. In addition, she was named WVHS Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the Orange County League. She is a volleyball and track and field star. In track and field, she is an All-American and NYSPHSAA state champion in the 4×400 meters.
She will attend the Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University in the fall, where she will major in business. She is the daughter of Jennifer and Robert Mosier, of Warwick. Her sister, Jenna, is a sophomore and her brother, Robert, is in the fifth grade.
Senior standout Kevin Walter is a three-year midfielder and team captain for the WVHS lacrosse team. He was selected as WVHS Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the Orange County League. He is in the top five of his graduating class with a GPA of 103. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society, and leader of the Robotics Club.
Kevin will be attending Clarkson University in the fall, where he will be studying mechanical engineering. He is the son of Samantha and Scott Walter, of Warwick. His brothers – Ryan, an RIT graduate, Sean, a UNH Graduate, and Ben, a WVHS sophomore – are all Wildcat student-athletes.
