WFD: Airplane Crashes at Warwick Airport

  The Warwick Fire Department (WFD) has responded to 167 calls for service to date. This past week was another busy week for the WFD including a plane crash at the Warwick Airport which resulted in no injuries. The WFD was assisted at the scene by Warwick Police and the Warwick Ambulance Corps.  The WFD also responded to multiple car accidents and other calls for service over the past week. 

  On Mon., May 31, the WFD attended the Warwick Memorial Day Parade to honor Military members who have died in during Military Duty. We thank all Military Veterans who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. We also would like to thank all Military Veterans who have served, currently serving and will serve including firefighter Tim Vreeland and firefighter Angelina O’Neill who both have recently joined the Army National Guard. We thank all of our Veterans for continuing to protect our freedoms including all of our members who served and also to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.  

  On Wed., June 2, the WFD attended the Warwick Valley High School Awards Ceremony to present our firefighters who attend the school with WFD Scholarships and with Community Service Awards.  Congratulations to Angelina O’Neill, Lian Walker and Kyle Pavlick on receiving the scholarships. On behalf of the WFD and our Scholarship Committee we wish nothing but the best for you all in college.  Also, during the awards ceremony the WFD issued Community Service Awards to our firefighters in our Junior Firefighters Program.  Congratulations to Angelina O’Neill, Ava Levitsky, Lian Walker, Dakota Gilmartin, Kyle Pavlick, Caswell Gluckstein and Travis Tomaselli.  The WFD wishes to congratulate all of our award recipients. We are very proud of your accomplishments in the classroom and on the fire ground.

The best evenings are Mondays after 6:30 p.m. or the first Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m.
