On Wed., May 19, Donna Garley, Director of the Greenwood Lake Senior Center held a birthday party at the Greenwood Lake American Legion for Angelo Defazio on his 99th birthday. Everyone from the senior center was invited and the party was well attended. It was held outdoors under the pavilion.
Angelo was born in 1922 the youngest of 13 children where he was raised in New York City. During WWII he was in the Army Air Force as a crew member on B-24 bombers. Angelo went on invasions to Africa, Sicily, and Rome. He currently resides in Greenwood Lake.
The party attendees had ziti, hotdogs, hamburgers, and salad. Everyone enjoyed the luncheon and Angelo blew out the candles on his birthday cake.
