Warwick Community Ambulance Service, an all-volunteer Emergency Medical Service, is celebrating National EMS Week from May 16 through May 21.
This year’s theme, “This is EMS: Caring for our Community,” is a chance for the community to celebrate the important contributions of EMS practitioners. These men and women provide services to a large portion of the Town of Warwick, the Village of Warwick and the Village of Florida, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. ‘This is EMS’ campaign seeks to celebrate, unify and inspire the men and women of the nation’s emergency medical services.
The COVID-19 pandemic continues to test EMS professionals like never before. EMS and other frontline workers are rising to the challenge and each has a crucial role in responding to the public health crisis. EMS week is a time to recognize and honor the EMS professionals for their tireless dedication to their communities-not just during this pandemic but every day.
Throughout the pandemic EMS personnel have been on the frontlines caring for the sick. EMS week is a chance for the community to come together and express their gratitude for EMS practitioners. These men and women, as well as their families, have been through so much. Recognizing their service and sacrifices is an important step in healing and recovery from the stress and intensity of the past year.
