The Albert Wisner Public Library will host a webinar about solar energy on Tues., May 11 at 7 p.m. The webinar will feature Warwick Mayor Michael Newhard, Village Trustee Corey Bachman, Michael Helme and Bill Makofske of Sustainable Warwick, and representatives of the six Warwick non-profits participating in the Triple Win Community Solar Campaign: Family Central; Greenwood Lake Community Garden; Safe Space America; Warwick Historical Society; Warwick Valley Humane Society; and Warwick Valley Community Center.

Author Talk with Nadia Hashimi
On Wed., May 12 at 6:30 p.m. the Library will host “Author Talk with Nadia Hashimi.” Nadia Hashimi is a pediatrician-turned-novelist who draws on her Afghan roots to craft internationally bestselling books for adults and young readers. Her novels span generations and continents, taking on themes like forced migration, conflict, poverty, misogyny, colonialism and addiction. She will discuss her new novel, “Sparks Like Stars.”
‘First Jewish Americans: Freedom
& Culture in the New World’
On Thurs., May 13 at 6:30 p.m., the Library will host “First Jewish Americans: Freedom and Culture in the New World.” Join Debra Schmidt Bach, Curator of Decorative Arts at the New-York Historical Society, for the story of the first Jewish people to arrive in the Americas in the 17th and 18th centuries, told with archival documents, objects, and portraits.
