1st Asst. Chief WFD
The Warwick Fire Department (WFD) has responded to 139 calls for service to date. During the week, all four fire companies completed vehicle apparatus truck checks and fleet maintenance; the Goodwill Hook and Ladder Company #1 and Raymond Hose Company #2 held a joint operations drill at WFD Station #4; the Fire District held their monthly scheduled work session; the WFD Color Guard held a drill to ready the Guard for the upcoming Memorial Day Parade; and the Extrications Team held a drill at Spechts Auto Recycling Center. Thank you to the Specht family for their continued support to the WFD!
In addition, the Warwick Fire Prevention Team hosted the Warwick Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. The scouts were instructed in fire safety and issued Future Warwick Junior Firefighters Certificates. The Scout Troops Leaders and members were also impressed that some of our firefighters are also female firefighters and past scouts. They were taught to work hard and to always help give back to their communities.
On Sat., May 15, the WFD Firefighter Assist Search Team (F.A.S..T) attended joint training with the Monroe and Washingtonville FD F.A.S.T. at the Orange County Fire Training Center. Also, six Warwick firefighters completed the NYS Interior Firefighter Operations Course. Congratulations to Daryl Carlough, Dakota Gilmartin, Michael Gilmartin, Ava Levitsky, Brad Reed and Roland Newkirk. The WFD is very proud of you all!
‘Thank You to EMTs & Police’
The WFD would like to wish all EMT’s and paramedics a Happy National EMS Week. A special thank you to our local ambulance service – the 100% Warwick Volunteer Ambulance Corps, who we work with on a daily basis. We thank you all for all you do to keep us going! A special thank you goes to all of the Warwick EMS administration and staff who are not only EMS but also our firefighters. We would also like to thank the Warwick Police, OCSO, NYSP and all Town of Warwick Police Agencies for the National Police Week. We can never thank you enough for always being there for us and keeping us all safe.
