Thanks to the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce and Girl Scout Elizabeth Verboys, Operation Clean Sweep will return during the week of Apr. 17 – 24. The Chamber will supply garbage bags and gloves, and you can pick a road to help rid our community of what seems like the inevitable discarded trash that appears along our roads each year. If we all pitch in, we can make quick work of improving the environment and helping our community. In addition, on Sat., Apr. 24 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, the Warwick Lions Club will offer paper shredding, as well as eyeglass and hearing aid collections. Prescription pill drop-off, courtesy of the Warwick Valley Coalition, will also be offered. Both activities will be held in the Chase parking lot on South St., next to the Chamber of Commerce caboose. Old electronics can be brought to The Computer Guy at 2 Overlook Dr., and old motor oil will be accepted at Leo Kaytes Ford at 145 Rte. 94 South.
On Mon., Apr. 26, our Department of Public Works will collect all the filled trash bags from our hard work and take them to the Transfer Station in Goshen where the County has graciously waived the fee for this event. I want to thank County Executive Steve Neuhaus, as well as Legislators Barry Cheney, Paul Ruszkiewicz and John Vero for their support of this event. Please join in to help keep our beautiful Town clean!
We are still seeking suggestions for a new name for the former Kutz Camp property. If you would like to suggest a name, please email it to townhall@townofwarwick.org.
