The Albert Wisner Public Library, located at 1 McFarland Dr. in Warwick, is ready to collect donations for its first “Seed Library.” A “Seed Library” takes some time and effort to put together, but the way the library works is very simple: gardeners “borrow” seeds from the library at planting time.
At the end of the growing season, they save seeds from the plants and return a portion of the seeds to the Library. The Library is accepting seeds of all types. Bring the seeds in a sealed bag, envelope or other container labelled with the name of the seeds and information such as if the seeds are organic.
The “Seed Library” is free and available to all library users. For more information, call the Library Help Desk at 986-1047, ext. 3.
‘Warwick Valley Commonplace to Shut Down’
The Albert Wisner Public Library has made the decision to shut down the Warwick Valley Commonplace platform. In its inception, Commonplace was a new way for the Warwick Valley community to connect in a virtual civic setting. Years later, with social media being so much a part of peoples’ lives, Commonplace cannot compete with Facebook and other major social media platforms.
