Mayor Newhard and I had a briefing from senior medical personnel from Bon Secours Charity Health, which includes our own St. Anthony Community Hospital. Despite the rising numbers of cases across our County I am happy to report that our local acute care facility and nursing home have zero positive Covid cases. In addition, there are very few hospitalizations, and length of stays are greatly reduced.
St. Anthony Community Hospital has a segregated, isolated area for potential cases and continues to provide essential medical procedures for many critical health issues. You should absolutely not delay a procedure your physician recommends or hesitate to go to the emergency room. We are blessed to have the most dedicated doctors, nurses, administrators and service workers at St. Anthony’s who have worked from the beginning to ensure outstanding care for our Town. Let’s continue to help them by first and foremost avoiding small, private gatherings; data shows 70+ % of the uptick can be traced to these gatherings.
Please continue to wear your mask, keep your distance and frequently wash your hands. Vaccines are already arriving and will be administered as per NYS priority protocol, starting as early as this week. So, help is on the way. Be safe and stay healthy!
The lobby of Town Hall remains open during the recent uptick in Covid-19 cases across our County with drop boxes to leave forms, water and sewer payments, Building Department applications, etc.
Phone numbers/emails are posted so we can provide services during this disruption.
Arrangements will be made via phone or email for each department to attend to your critical needs throughout this limited access period.
