Mayor Dwyer: Police Dispatcher Position(s) Available

   The Village of Greenwood Lake Police Department is accepting applications for the position of part-time dispatcher to cover A-Line tours of duty (11 p.m. to 7 a.m.). We are seeking individuals who are highly motivated and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, maintain attention to detail, have a working knowledge of computers and demonstrate a positive attitude while adapting and reacting to sudden changes in a fast-paced public safety environment.

   Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: receiving, processing, dispatching emergency and non-emergency calls for service (police, fire and EMS); operating and maintaining proficient use of all communications equipment; handling stressful situations and working well under pressure for an extended period of time.

The job requirements include, but are not limited to: the ability to see and hear accurately; excellent typing and related computer skills; the ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously; the ability to acquire and maintain job related certifications; and training requirements. The starting hourly rate is $20/hour for our A-line tours of duty.
