The lifetime of service from Veteran Darrell Corti, of Warwick, has earned him recognition as a national Veteran of Foreign Wars (VFW) #StillServing Hero. The #StillServing campaign honors veterans who continue to serve in their community after active duty.
A 28-year U.S. Air Force veteran, Darrell also served as a detective with the New York Police Department for 20 years and is currently a volunteer firefighter with the Warwick Fire Department.
Darrell says giving back is in his DNA; he loves helping his neighbors in their time of need. Darrell’s community service led him to be chosen as one of the few VFW #StillServing Heroes nationwide.
The VFW encourages all veterans to share stories on social media using #StillServing to show how they continue to answer the call to serve in ways big and small. In addition, family or friends are asked to use #StillServing in social media posts to honor a veteran in their lives who believes the spirit of service transcends military life.
