Several parents with young children attended a Car Seat Check Event on Sat., Oct. 24, hosted by the Town of Warwick Police Department. Certified Car Seat Safety Technicians educated and assisted parents and caregivers with the proper installation of their car seat.

Those who attended the event expressed gratitude to members of the Warwick Police Department for helping them to keep their children safe.

“It makes me feel very nervous to not have a car seat properly installed which is why we came to the professionals,” said Heather Brooks of Pine Island. “I am so thankful they are having this event.”

Heather’s 11-month-year-old son, Brooks Meacham, outgrew his infant car seat and she was having a new one installed with guidance from Warwick Police Officer Steve Helmrich.

The Warwick Police Department would like to thank everyone who attended. They also thank the Warwick ShopRite for providing drinks and snacks and for allowing them to host the event in the ShopRite parking lot.
