David Allen Snell was a good man with a big heart who has left us way too early. Growing up here in Warwick with David brings back so many good memories, especially since the Snell and Logan families were such a large part of our Town. Their devotion to family and community instilled in David and his siblings a lifelong commitment to help others. David honorably served our nation in the United States Army as part of the renowned 82nd Airborne. He continued his service as a member of the Orange County Sheriff’s office. Later in life, as our paths crossed, he always had a smile and kind word. He loved his family, his friends and life itself. David rests now with the other angels in heaven, but he is not forgotten. Perhaps his last act of kindness and compassion was the huge turnout for his internment at the Orange County Veterans Cemetery, where hundreds – white, black, Hispanic, men and women – all came out to celebrate a precious life and to comfort one another. Let David’s life serve as our inspiration to work to make a better America.
