Hello Florida,
Halloween is coming and this year there will be many things to participate in for Village residents who want to get into the spirit! All contests will keep social distancing in mind of course.
A pumpkin decorating contest hosted by the Florida Farmers’ Market and sponsored by the Florida Chamber of Commerce will be open to children from Pre-k to fifth grade. The judging will be held on Tues., Oct. 20 at 3:15 p.m., and the winners will receive cash prizes. For details visit the Florida Farmers’ Market Facebook.
The Florida Fire Department will be organizing an “Out-Boo Your Neighbors House” decorating contest with cash prizes! This will culminate with the house judging on Quarantine-o-ween on Sat., Oct. 31. The firetrucks and parade will come by your house to help maintain social distancing. There will be a costume contest, prizes and candy for all those registered for the event. This is open to Florida Fire District residents only. To register or for more information send an email to ffdhalloween@gmail.com. Thank you to Alison Orlando for sponsoring the contests!
And finally, I want to remind everyone that on Mon., Oct. 12 the Village Hall will be closed and garbage pickup will be on Tues., Oct. 13 Village wide. Please do not place your garbage cans along the curb until Monday night.
