The Warwick Little League honored the Major Girls District 19 Softball Champions with a photo plaque unveiling. On hand for the small, intimate ceremony was Village of Warwick Mayor Michael Newhard, Town Supervisor Michael Sweeton, Village Trustee Barry Cheney, Councilman Floyd DeAngelo, Councilman Jim Gerstner, Warwick Little League Board of Directors, along with parents and players.
Supervisor Sweeton presented the girls with a proclamation saying this week will be recognized as “Major Girls Softball District 19 Week” in the Village of Warwick. He said that the girls served as role models after their win to the people in the Village of Warwick.
Manager Charlotte Garofalo expressed her gratitude on behalf of all parents and players, and couldn’t be happier on the teams’ achievements, saying, “The girls will never forget the day they won in front of their home town, family and friends. It was very memorable and I couldn’t be happier for all of them.”
The Warwick Little League has served the community since 1955, allowing boys and girls to play baseball/softball in a safe, and fun environment. For more information visit the Warwick Little League on Facebook, Instagram, & Twitter.
