The Warwick Fire Department (WFD) has responded to 296 calls for service to date.
On Sat., Sept. 26, the Excelsior Hose Company #1 and Raymond Hose Company #2 completed annual Self-contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) requalification’s at Warwick Station #4 in the department’s Training Maze. The drill is designed for firefighters to demonstrate skills that they are trained in annually should the need arise that they have to self-extricate themselves from a fire room with rapidly deteriorating conditions involving entanglements and low air scenarios.
Also, on Sept. 26, firefighters from Engine Company #3 packed up belongings from the South St. Extension Station to ready the building for removal for construction of the new Warwick Fire District Engine Company #3 Fire Station. The chiefs, officers and members of the WFD would like to wish the best to the members of Engine Company #3. Thank you to the Warwick Fire District and to the Warwick Community for their continued support of the fire department.
During the week, all four companies completed apparatus and buildings checks to ensure their fleet is operational for all future emergencies. The WFD FAST Team (Firefighters Assist Search Team) completed a joint operations drill at Warwick Station #1.
