Fire Prevention Chairman of the WFD
Activity has begun in the past week on the Warwick Fire District site of the Engine Company #3 building on South St. Ext. for the construction of the new Fire Station. A fence has been placed around the site and WFD would like to thank the Warwick Fire District and the Warwick Community for the support.
WFD Raffling Off 65” Roku TV
The Warwick Fire Department is currently raffling off a 65″ Philips ROKU TV at $5 a chance, limited to the first 500 chances. To receive a link to pay for chances, email warwickfire150@gmail.com. Pick up only or local delivery.
WFD Call Activity
The Warwick Fire Department has responded to 325 calls for service to date.
On Sat., Oct. 24 the Warwick FD responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a single vehicle down an embankment into a tree with a sole occupant with no injuries. The driver was evaluated by Warwick EMS at the scene and the matter was turned over to the Warwick Police Department.
On Sun., Oct. 25, WFD responded to an interstate mutual aid request for our Tanker to Vernon, NJ Fire Department while they operated at a house fire.
During the past week the Warwick FD held a joint company operational drill at the Wickham Woodlands at the Honor Block Facility on John Hicks Dr.; the Florida FD hosted the Battalion 6 meeting comprised of all of Town of Warwick Fire Districts including, Florida, Greenwood Lake, Pine Island and Warwick Fire Departments; and, the Warwick FIre Department Rope Team held an Operational Drill at Warwick Station 4. Thank you to the Town of Warwick for their continued support to the WFD.
Driver Safety
Please use caution while driving on our roadways and obey the posted speed limits they are there for a reason! Use caution at all times while traveling through the Village and Town of Warwick especially during the weekends remember to allow extra time for travel arrive alive!
Fire Safety Information
Many home fires are preventable – always remember to keep our community Warwick Fire Safe! WFD wants you to remember that Fire Prevention is easy and right from your smart phone and tablets, go to NFPA.ORG, community.nfpa.org or to the children’s interactive site at sparkyschoolhouse.org and teach your family, young and old, fire safety tips to keep them Warwick Fire Safe.
