On Sun., Sept. 7, the Town of Warwick Police Department received information that a male wanted for a deadly assault in Worcester, MA was possibly in the area.
Warwick Police Officers Brian Luthin and Keith Slesinski took the description and other information and located the suspect at the Sunoco Gas Station on Maple Ave. in the Village of Warwick.
Malek Matos, 34, of Worcester, MA, was arrested without incident at that location. He was taken back to the police station and processed on a Fugitive from Justice charge. He was arraigned by the Honorable Judge Jeanine Wadeson and sent to Orange County Jail on no bail and is awaiting extradition to Massachusetts.
