What a beautiful weekend to get outside and do some work around the house or just take a walk. When I came in at the end of the day with my dogs, I wasn’t very surprised to see that I had several deer ticks on me. With fall on the horizon I’d like to use this week’s column to remind everyone that ticks are out and with the cooler temperatures they are looking for hosts.
Everyone should protect themselves from these aggravating arachnids and the diseases they carry such as Lyme’s disease or anaplasmosis to name a few. Wearing light colored clothing makes it easier to spot them on you or using insect repellent will increase the odds of keeping ticks from biting you.
