The bounty of the valley is beginning to arrive at our numerous farm stands and markets. Sweet corn, tomatoes and peppers, fresh from the field just can’t be beat. Our farmers have worked hard to produce this good, healthy food, so let’s reward their efforts by stocking up!
The heat wave continues, so now it’s more important than ever to keep an eye open for your neighbors, especially the elderly. If you have concerns, our Police Department is happy to do a house check to make sure everyone is healthy during these high temperatures and humid conditions. Call 986-5000, and we’ll be happy to help.
For our residents of the Sterling Pines area, off of Long Meadow Road, you should be aware that Suez Water who serves the area will be in the process of replacing their old 200,000 gallon water tank. Suez will be sharing details throughout the process and will also keep you informed.
The Town Beach at the Thomas P. Morahan Waterfront Park is now open seven days a week from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. for Warwick Town residents only (This, of course, includes Florida, Greenwood Lake and Warwick Village residents). The beach area is limited to 50% occupancy initially while the Town and Village monitor how beachgoers observe our social gathering regulations. Season passes can be obtained from the Warwick Town Clerk by calling 986-1124. The NYS and Orange County Departments of Health have imposed strict guidelines that staff and beachgoers will need to follow, so your cooperation will be greatly appreciated.
The next regular meeting of the Town Board will be held on Thurs., Aug. 13, at 7:30 p.m. in the Warwick Town Hall, 132 Kings Highway, Warwick.
