The Village of Warwick has recently received complaints about the lack of adherence to wearing masks in public. The Stanley-Deming Playground is a community-built space that is enjoyed and loved by all.
“In the same spirit of community, we are working together to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and are strictly adhering to the policy of mandatory mask wearing,” said Village of Warwick Mayor Michael Newhard. “While at the park, if you or your child is unable to remain six feet apart from others, then masks must be worn in accordance with Executive Order No. 202.17.”
The Executive Order states: Any individual who is over age two and able to medically tolerate a face-covering shall be required to cover their nose and mouth with a mask or cloth face-covering when in a public place and unable to maintain, or when not maintaining, social distance.
If there are health issues that prevent someone or their child from wearing a mask, the Village requests that they isolate their play activity to times of the day when there are fewer park attendees.
“This is a global health issue that must be responded to with individual and community commitment. Thank you for your support,” said
Mayor Newhard.
