Warwick Police: Man Stabbed in Pine Island

The Town of Warwick Police Department is investigating an assault at a residence in which a 26-year-old male from Highland Mills, NY was stabbed multiple times.

According to Warwick Police, on Sat., July 4 at approximately 9:50 p.m. there was gathering at 60 Feagles Rd. in the Pine Island section of Warwick, when a domestic incident occurred between two family members.

The victim, who was not directly involved in the domestic incident, tried to intervene as it escalated. Officers responded to the residence and found the male inside, he was bleeding severely and receiving first aid by a witness.

“The responding Officers made lifesaving decisions for the victim and quickly apprehended the suspect,” said Lt. John Rader.

Police arrested Peter J. Fazio, 32, of 60 Feagles Rd. at the residence.  He was charged with Assault in the First Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon – both are violent felonies based upon prior convictions.

The victim was taken to St. Anthony Community Hospital in critical condition and was later upgraded to stable condition. The incident was investigated by the Town of Warwick Police Department Detective Unit and the New York State Police ID Unit. Fazio was awaiting arraignment at the time of this press release.
