We regret to announce that due to concerns and unknowns related to Covid-19, the Senior Citizen BBQ will not be held this year. While this is very disappointing, as it is an event that our seniors look forward to each year, we do not want to endanger them in any way. Fatalities due to Covid-19 fall heavily on the 65 years and older portion of our population, over 77% County-wide. Our seniors and community have done a great job in staying safe, and we can’t stop now. I want our senior citizens to know that we will hold the Town of Warwick/Warwick Valley Rotary BBQ once again next year in a bigger and better way, so mark your calendars!
Phase IV is here, and for us the biggest impact is the opening of “low risk” arts and entertainment – both outdoor and indoor. Things like car shows, musical venues, exhibits and museums can go forward with social distancing, limits of 33% presence and a written safety plan. For information and details visit forward.ny.gov.
The Town Beach at the Thomas P. Morahan Waterfront Park is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for Warwick Town residents only. This, of course, includes Florida, Greenwood Lake and Warwick Village residents. The beach area is limited to 50% occupancy initially while the Town and Village monitor how beachgoers observe our social gathering regulations. Season passes can be obtained from the Warwick Town Clerk by calling 986-1124. The NYS and Orange County Departments of Health have imposed strict guidelines that staff and beachgoers will need to follow, so your cooperation will be greatly appreciated.
A Public Hearing to establish the Warwick Valley Office & Technology Corporate Park lighting district at the former Mid-Orange property will be held on Thurs., July 16 at 7:15 p.m. in the Warwick Town Hall.
