A warm show of support arrived to Orange Regional Medical Center on Tues., May 26 in the form of a lunch delivery for the nursing staff. Small Things Inc., a newly-formed local non-profit founded in Warwick, delivered its first “Host a Hero” package in recognition of the incredible dedication throughout the COVID-19 pandemic of the medical teams in the community.
The luncheon was generously sponsored by DeBellis & Associates CPAs PC. Ruben Estrada of Empanada Master provided an abundance of delicious empanadas with rice and Daisy Crumm of Crumm Cake Cupcakes & Baked Goods delivered her signature cupcakes with a smile.
When someone brings a meal to a nurse, it’s more than lunch.
“This food is nutrition to give our nurses the energy they need to care for these vulnerable patients. By your generous donation you have in some way helped to save a patient’s life. We thank you,” said Lisa Oldham, Chief Nursing Officer at Orange Regional Medical Center.
Small Things is New Non-Profit
Small Things Inc. is a tax-approved 501(c)(3) charity formed by Warwick resident Tracy Gregoire in April of this year. Inspired by Mother Theresa’s message that “not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love,” the mission of Small Things Inc. is to share kindness through community-supported giving. Ninety-five percent of donations directly support the community including a five percent contribution to Warwick’s Backpack Snack Attack program.
“Our first campaign, Truckloads of Gratitude, is dedicated to our local hospitals and medical facilities while supporting family-owned businesses. For every $300 raised, one of our local food truck partners will deliver twenty-five delicious meals to local medical professionals in appreciation of their service to our community throughout this pandemic. No contribution is too small – kindness comes in all sizes!” said Gregoire.
