Opening day of the Florida Farmers market is upon us! Beginning next Tues., June 23, between the hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the area’s best and local fresh produce will once again be available for you to purchase and help support some of our local businesses. The market will still be located between 17A and Route 94; be aware that social distancing practices will be implemented such as one entrance, hand washing stations and required face masks while in the market.
The first day of summer is this Saturday and I’d like to remind everyone that Glenmere Park has been opened to the Town of Warwick residents only for now due to the Covid-19 restrictions. This also includes the Villages of Florida, Warwick, Greenwood Lake and Pine Island.
I wanted to bring to our residents’ attention that the property was pristine before the park was reopened. Over the weekend I took a walk around the property and saw garbage along the shoreline and dog feces on the trails and grass. This was very disheartening to see after all the calls and emails about when the park would be reopened. Within a week the garbage and disregard for picking up after your pets has already tainted our special park and reservoir. I urge everyone to be a good steward and pick up after yourself and others. We should all want to leave the park and lake better than how we found it.
