Warwick Valley High School has been designated by the New York State Education Department as a Recognition School for its high achieving and high progress for 2019-2020. This year’s designees represent 13 percent of New York State public schools and marks the sixth time in the past seven years the high school has received this designation.
Under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), Recognition Schools are those that show high academic achievement and strong progress, and also perform acceptably in all subgroups for which they are accountable. Warwick Valley HS is one of 212 high schools to achieve this designation. In total, 582 schools were honored.
To achieve Recognition School status, the high school maintained its New York State Education Department accountability status of Good Standing. The school also achieved a Level 4 for Combined Composite Performance and Graduation Rate for high schools.
