During this difficult time, the Warwick Valley Empty Bowls Committee and the Warwick Valley High School Empty Bowls Club have once again joined together to support the Town of Warwick food pantries and organizations offering free meals.
This year’s Empty Bowls ice cream social fundraiser, which was scheduled for May 1 at the high school, could not be held due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, for its 11th annual event, Empty Bowls is holding an alternate online fundraiser featuring a series of monthly drawings for beautiful handmade pottery bowls.
When clicking on this link (https://warwickvalleyemptybowls.org/virtual-fundraiser/) everyone will see a “Donate” button.
At the end of each month, all those who have made an online donation of $10 or more during that month will be entered into a random drawing to win one of three beautiful pottery bowls, each made by a local potter.
After the school district re-opens, monthly prizes will include pottery bowls made by talented WVHS Empty Bowls Club student members. Winners will be chosen live! On the first day of each month, beginning this June 1, winners will be pulled at random from the prior month’s donors on the Empty Bowls Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/WVEmptyBowls/) .
Arrangements will be made with each monthly winner for local delivery or shipping (paid for by an Empty Bowls volunteer). For more information or to make a donation, visit https://warwickvalleyemptybowls.org.
