Local News News & Updates

S.S. Seward Institute seniors, Alicia Morse and Christopher Beattie, were among the thirty-plus high school graduates honored with 2019-20 Orange-Ulster BOCES Senior-Scholar Humanities Awards.

Alicia Morse distinguished herself in the visual arts as a member of Seward’s Video and Photography Club, and the Art Club where she currently serves as vice-president. Her artistic and creative talents also made their mark in multiple drama productions shared with the Florida community. An active member of the Goshen Volunteer Fire Department, she enjoys creative writing in her free time. Starting this fall, Alicia Morse plans to pursue a degree in English and communications.

Christopher Beattie has been a distinguished member of Seward’s choir throughout his high school career, contributing both his talent and dedication to countless school and public performances. A four-year high-honor recipient, Christopher has also been recognized as a scholar-athlete. Looking ahead at college and career, Christopher will explore his options in sports management and/or administration.
