Library Annual Vote to Take Place By Mail

News & Updates

The Albert Wisner Public Library’s annual election will be held on Tues., June 9, in conjunction with the Warwick Valley Central School District’s annual election.

The Library’s election of two trustees will be on the ballot.  Library Trustees are elected to serve a five-year term of office. The candidates for two seats on the Albert Wisner Public Library Board of Trustees are incumbent Nora Aman Gurvich and Mark Damia.

The tax levy amount for the Albert Wisner Public Library will remain the same as fiscal year 2019–2020.  A vote on a tax levy increase is therefore not required.

The vote will be by mail. Absentee ballots and a postage-paid return envelope will be mailed by the district to every qualified voter. If a person has previously registered to vote with the School District and has voted at an annual or special school district meeting within the last four calendar years, that person is eligible to vote at this election.  If an eligible voter is currently registered to vote with the Orange County Board of Elections, that person is eligible to vote at this election.  All other persons who wish to vote must register with the Orange County Board of Elections by mail or on line through the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles website at https://dmv.ny.gov/more-info/electronic/voter/registration-application.

All ballots must be received by District Clerk of the Warwick Valley School District Office by 5 p.m. on Tues., June 9. For more information, contact Rosemary Cooper, Library Director at 986-1047, ext. 6.
