Summer in Greenwood Lake is approaching and it appears the light at the end of the tunnel is not getting nearer. Uncertainty remains throughout our state when the first regions will begin opening and which regions will be considered to open.
What is clear, however, is our region, specifically our county, will not be opening on May 15. As much as I would like to say everything is and will be fine, that is simply not true. The continuing closure of our local businesses has and will continue to devastate their ability to survive long-term.
Please do everything you can to support our businesses during this difficult time and keep an eye out to support your neighbors in distress. Many have lost their jobs and are facing financial hardship.
Last week, I hosted another tele-townhall meeting for residents, business and property owners. Several hundred residents participated, and the call was very useful for me to hear concerns and ideas going forward.
On Mon., May 18 at 7:30 p.m., the Village Board will host another Village Board meeting through Zoom. Anyone can listen into the meeting either on their phone or computer.
