The residents of Schervier Pavilion recently celebrated Mardi Gras at a celebration with live musical entertainment followed by a traditional King Cake party. The highlight of the afternoon was a musical treat, a one-woman cabaret show by professional singer and entertainer Stephanie Romm.
Another treat was the cutting and serving of the traditional Mardi Gras King Cake, which is made of a cinnamon-filled dough in the shape of a hollow circle. The cake has a small plastic baby hidden inside and, according to custom, the person who gets the piece of cake with the baby has to throw the next party.
